You think of a task mid-conversation and want it on the right board, assigned, with a due date without leaving your chat tool, and without giving AI free rein over your project system. The approval prompts keep a human in control of every change.

An AI agent connected to your project tool (e.g., ClickUp) with create (read/write) access

The exact list name, task title, assignee, and due date

In your chat tool, ask the agent to create the task with specifics: list, title, assignee, due date.

Approve each action as the prompt pops up (create → assign → set due date).

If it can't match an assignee by first name, restate the exact name or owner.

(Optional) Tell it to follow the naming pattern on an existing list instead of spelling out every rule.

Open your project tool and confirm the task, assignee, and due date all landed.

Follow the task-naming pattern you see on that list.

✅ Task created in [List]: "[Task title]" 

(Approval requested and confirmed for: create task, set assignee, set due date.)

Point the agent at an existing list so it can copy your formatting instead of being told the rules.

If formatting is inconsistent, write a short "how we name tasks" reference doc and have the agent use it.

Start with tasks on your own list before assigning to others.

This connection is read/WRITE and scoped to your own permissions: it can change real work items, not just read them. 

Keep approval prompts on until you've watched it succeed several times. 

Don't grant powers you can't undo (e.g., bulk delete).
